Congratulations on accepting your nomination to Yonsei University! The next step is to apply to Yonsei. I got worried after not hearing from MIX or Yonsei for a while, but its okay! It took about a month or two before I got an email from Vinnie (MIX's Outbound Specialist) on the SAY app and next steps. The application is entirely online and is fairly straight forward as well. You will recieve an email with the link to the application as well as your login information. It is very important that you turn in the application on time. All the due dates given by Yonsei are on Korean time (which is 19 hours ahead) so keep this in mind when marking the dates in your calendars. Here are the main parts of the application and a few tips when completing them: Student ID picture: They have extremely specific requirements for the ID picture. This photo will be given on the app so make sure that you meet all the requirements, otherwise they may ask you to upload another picture that meets these requirements. I used my Iphone to take the photo and then cropped it so that it would meet the required dimensions so don't worry if you don't have a DSLR or fancier camera!
Passport: The app asks you to upload a copy of your passport. I used a scanner app called "camscanner" on my phone to take a photo of my passport and that worked just fine if you don't have access to a scanner. Current Transcript: Yonsei also asks for a scanned copy of your official transcript. In order to get your official transcript, you have to fill out the transcript request form and then you can pay $5/copy for the standard request or $15/copy for the rush request. You bring the form and money to the cashiers office in QLC and then you'll just have to wait until its ready to be picked up. Once you pick up your transcript, you can use the same scanning app that you used for your passport to upload the picture onto the application. Health Insurance: You will not purchase your health insurance until after your acceptance so just ask Vinnie (the MIX outbound specialist) for a letter stating that you will have insurance that covers you in Korea until you get your actual proof of insurance. The application allows you to upload your proof of health insurance after the application is due so don't freak out that you don't have the actual document by the time the application is due. Yonsei expects you to have the actual proof by early mid January so keep an eye out for any emails about key due dates. Personal Statement: Lastly, there will be a downloadable doc to fill out your personal statement. Its is only a few questions and you can fill them out with about a paragraph each. Then you just save and upload it back onto the app. Thats all you have to do and you're good to go! Remember to try to complete the application by the deadline but, since it is so simple, I would suggest that you do it right away!
